Start here: work with AI thoughtfully

A simple path from a real task to a result you can explain.

Updated 18 October 2026 · Practical learning guide

Begin with a bounded task

Choose one thing you need to accomplish. A clear task makes it easier to decide what information to provide and whether the result is useful.

  • Name the audience and the decision or action the work should support.
  • Define the constraints: time, length, available evidence and information you must protect.
  • Decide what you will check before using the result.

Use a repeatable cycle

Frame the task, explore options, evaluate the evidence and apply your own judgement. This is a practical teaching framework, not a guarantee of accuracy.

Practical example
Task: prepare a one-page project brief.
Context: audience, budget, deadline and approved notes.
Output: options, trade-offs and a recommendation.
Review: sources, assumptions and unresolved questions.

Keep responsibility with the person

A polished answer still needs review. Decide what to accept, revise or discard, and record why. Use an approved AI service and avoid sharing confidential material without permission.
